Registration Information
- Space is limited. The first attendees to register and pay in full are guaranteed a place.
- Payment is required at the time of registration; there is no holding a place.

- Registration closes two weeks before the first day of the course or when it is full, whichever comes first.
- Cancellations are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. Any cancellations made within 14 days of the course will not be refunded and cannot be applied to a future course.
- Registration is non-transferable unless prior approval is given.
- Registration is per person, not per program.
- Approximately 4 hours of advanced study is strongly recommended.

Course Description
Effective EMS program directors and faculty need various organizational, administrative, and leadership skills. New program directors and instructors are frequently excellent clinicians who find themselves in new and challenging roles and seek resources to help guide them in managing complex educational programs. The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in the Emergency Medical Services Professions provides a set of accreditation standards for the development and maintenance of Advanced Medical Technician (AEMT) and Paramedic programs. The Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) offers the Fundamentals of Accreditation Workshop for the EMS Professions as an introduction and overview of the CAAHEP Standards and the policies guiding the accreditation process.
The Beyond the Fundamentals Course provides further tools for new and experienced individuals navigating professional development. Topics include leadership in EMS programs, effective communication for a successful program, selecting staffing for success, effective course management, evaluating the financial resources, best practices in program and student assessment, effective tools for program management, and long-range planning. This interactive program also provides an opportunity to dialogue with other EMS program leaders on creating a strong learning community in their programs.
